In order to play in the final playoffs, Paul Byron had to opt for an injection of providential cortisone. If it wasn't for that, he wouldn't have been able to play his hip so bad.
On the other hand, this injection was the click for Byron, who had to go under the bistouris in order to properly heal this lingering wound that he had been dragging for a few years.
«At least a couple of years ago I knew I had this injury. Every year was worse than before!» - Byron
He suffered so much that, after some games, he had difficulty walking and even sleeping. Then, following his first injection, he understood the good that it made him not to suffer so much anymore.
I went to New York to see a doctor who was doing hip surgery for hockey players. It was in a corner of my head for years, but it wasn't something I wanted to do unless it was necessary. It was the right thing to do and I have complete confidence in the team's medical staff!» - Byron
The return of Byron was very long, longer than expected, he who had to come back around the holidays... but let's say that the gymnasiums being closed in Quebec certainly did not help him.
