Jeff Petry, labeled a Norris by too many pundits last season, is off to a disastrous start to the campaign so far. Number 26 is playing with too much inner frustration, while adding a ton of pressure to himself as he has to play the number one defenseman role.
Not every human/player is able to take on extra pressure. Everyone is different, and on that note, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that Petry has never enjoyed playing the primary role on a brigade. That's part of the "why and how" equation he plays so badly...
In short, whatever the reasons for Petry playing at a level far below his usual build, fans seem fed up. Fans are sick of his attitude and repeated mental mistakes.
Here are the results to the question : "Among the following veterans, which one would be the most deserving of a game on the bridge?" No less than 60% of respondents opted for Jeff Petry.
Conclusive, isn't it?
