But for tipsters, it's also a busy time, as there are numerous trade rumors circulating all over the NHL and as reported by Nicolas Desrosiers of Marqueur.com, one of them had an interesting piece of information that could involve a Habs forward.
According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald would like to add a forward who can play on the top two lines on offense and who will not become an uncompensated free agent at the end of the season.
This fits in perfectly with Josh Anderson, a player the Devils tried to acquire last summer.
The Devils are having a terrific season and they would like to add a player who can score goals and who can also break down opponents and if you add up all of those criteria, Habs forward Josh Anderson checks all of those boxes for them.
But the interesting thing about this is that the Devils have reportedly had their eye on Anderson since the last NHL draft and the team still has his first round pick in the upcoming draft.
As we know, Kent Hughes will be very demanding if he ever decides to trade his power forward and a first round pick would likely be the basis for a deal.
What would you ask the Devils for Anderson?
LeBrun adds something very interesting in closing: the Devils are willing to give up some solid pieces, to get the right player.
