Rafaël Harvey-Pinard announcement: he just made a big decision and it will have a direct impact on his future with the Habs
Since being called up by the Canadiens, Rafael Harvey-Pinard has proven that he is an NHL player. He seems to have only one goal in mind, which is to prove to his boss, Kent Hughes, that he deserves a permanent spot with the team for the coming seasons.
Often compared to a Brendan Gallagher 2.0, he will indeed have the opportunity to negotiate in this direction very soon, as he will become a restricted free agent this summer. His recent successes will undoubtedly help him secure a one-way contract with the CH, as he completes his entry-level contract.
To achieve this, RHP seems to be doing everything possible not only on the ice but also off it.
Harvey-Pinard Made A Big Decision
According to what Renaud Lavoie reported Saturday night, the 24-year-old recently changed agents, switching from Chad Levitt to Philippe Lecavalier.
It's worth noting that Lecavalier works for the Quartexx agency, which previously belonged to Kent Hughes. There's no such thing as a coincidence!
In his segment, Lavoie adds that negotiations have not yet begun, but he is certain it will be a one-way deal. Talks might even start before the end of the season.
In 26 games this season with the CH, the Quebec native has scored 9 goals and recorded 5 assists for a total of 14 points. He also accumulated 25 points in 37 games with the Rocket before being called up to the main club.
This is a story to follow.
