For several months, we have had no news of former Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber, but the following photo has curiously surfaced:
That's just Weber, skating in a Henderson Silver Knights "uniform", the AHL school club of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Remember that last June, Weber was traded to the Golden Knights for forward Evgenii Dadonov (1-for-1 trade)
Weber is signed for four more seasons and earns 7.8 million per year. He is currently on the Vegas long-term injury list.
Now, why is the above picture interesting?
For a few reasons. First, because it seems to indicate that Weber is getting better and is back on skates.
Second, it's interesting to see that he's wearing the Henderson Silver Knights (AHL) colors, not the Vegas Golden Knights (AHL).
Many people are speculating about his future, some with more daring theories than others, but some observers really believe that Weber could get involved with the Silver Knights. Stay tuned!
Does Shea Weber have a future as a coach in the Golden Knights organization? Does he help develop the youngsters in their club school?
We don't have any answers and we don't want to speculate too much, but we have to admit that it's a very interesting picture.
A turnaround?
One thing is for sure, Weber has never shown any interest in coaching, but who knows? We could see a nice turnaround on this issue. It would be nice to see him get involved like that.
Well, we'll say it.. Some people are also talking about a possible return to the game in his case, but let's not go there.
