Ryan Poehling has been criticized a lot in the last two years, but since his last recall, he is proving that he belongs in the NHL. He is making his mark on many levels, including in the goal column, where he scored twice on Saturday night against the Nashville Predators.
It's simple, Poehling is playing within his means, which means his confidence is there. Add to that the fact that number 25 listened to the wise advice of his "big brother" with the Laval Rocket, Alex Belzile.
But what advice is that? Advice as simple as this: shoot or be shot. So, when he has an opportunity, he should shoot and not distribute the puck to be too generous.
After the game, Belzile took the trouble to "text" Poehling to let him know that his trick worked. The two men have developed a nice relationship/chemistry with the Rocket, which is great for the young Poehling.
