The Seattle Kraken reached the five-win plateau last night with a solid win over one of the NHL's powerhouse, the Washington Capitals. The new expansion team won 5-2 against "Ovi" and his crew.
The Kraken took the opportunity to thank one of their former members for this generous victory. It was goaltender Vitek Vanecek. The Caps goalie gave up four goals to his former team on 30 shots.
Vanecek was selected by Seattle in the expansion draft last July. However, a few days later, the Czech goaltender was traded to the Washington Capitals for a second round pick in the 2023 draft. His stay with the Kraken was therefore very short-lived.
