Training camps are now well underway in the National Hockey League and we are starting to see trios being formed.
There is obviously nothing final, but it gives a first idea.
On the Seattle Kraken side, they have unveiled their first combinations. Many fans and analysts were curious to see where Shane Wright, an obviously familiar name to Montreal Canadiens fans, would be placed.
See the result:
Donato - Beniers - Bjorkstrand
Burakovsky - Wennberg - Donskoi
Schwartz - Wright - Eberle
McCann - Gourde - Kuhlman
Tanev - Geekie - Froden
We see that the Kraken has a nice depth at the attack and four good center players. According to Seattle reporters, Matty Beniers and Alex Wennberg are currently clearly ahead of Wright in the pecking order, while Yanni Gourde will keep his role as a complete defensive center with plenty of minutes.
That leaves few minutes for Wright, who will start the season with the Kraken, barring a huge turnaround. He's likely to start on the third or fourth line, with few minutes per game against lesser opponents.
It will be interesting to watch!
