Do you remember defenseman Darren Dietz? The former fifth round pick of the Habs in 2011 had played one season in the Blue-White-Red uniform in 2015-2016. He had collected 5 points in 13 games after playing three seasons in the American Hockey League.
Since then, the 28-year-old defenseman has moved to Kazakhstan to play for the Astana Barys in the KHL. He showed that he is capable of throwing down the gloves, as he put up a furious fight today.
Dietz knows how to get noticed by NHL general managers. He also showed that he can put points on the board as he had 17 goals and 20 assists in 53 games. The CH alum had his best campaign in 2018-2019 as he had 53 points in 62 games.
Dietz has shown that he has the makings of an NHL player. However, he only has 13 games played in the National Hockey League. Do you see him making a return to the Bettman circuit?
