Nashville Predators general manager David Poile must be praying every night that Shea Weber doesn't retire.
Why?
As we all know, the Tennessee team will have to keep a huge chunk of Weber's salary on their payroll, should the number 6 officially retire.
Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, an insider on occasion, revealed the exact amount of that penalty. The amount would be $6.1 million for four seasons, which is an incredibly high amount.
While the Habs would have a penalty of $214,000 for four years, which seems reasonable.
Ideally, the Habs would trade Weber's pact to Nashville to avoid such a penalty, but of course, David Poile would have to pay Kent Hughes an interesting compensation in return.
