We are seeing big changes in the NHL. Many youngsters are taking the place of the veterans who have carried the NHL on their shoulders for the past few years. One of those veterans is Sidney Crosby, and he recently gave a glimpse of when he will completely give up his spot and retire.

In an interview for the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman asked the hockey icon when he plans to retire and if he'll play after his current contact ends. Here's what Crosby had to say:

"No I don't think so, I don't want to say no, but I'm leaning toward not. You know, I'm thinking about three more years [his current contract] and then I see what happens from there. I know there's no point in me looking beyond that." - Sidney Crosby

Crosby went on to say:

"I know I want to keep playing at a high level. You know, I've played a lot of hockey, it's something that takes a lot of effort. You have to put in the work and your body has to hold up. There's a lot of things you have to do right to keep playing. I think three years is my goal and after that we'll see where I am." - Sidney Crosby

There is definitely not much time left in the Crosby era in the NHL. We'll have to make the most of this legend's final years in the league before he turns the page...
