Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis have been doing the same thing since they took over and the working climate for the media seems much lighter and more pleasant. This is quite a change compared to the previous management of the team.
By the way, Mathis Therrien, of Danslescoulisses.com, reports that the atmosphere had become unhealthy and unbearable with the former general manager, Marc Bergevin.
In his most recent column in the Journal de Montréal, Réjean Tremblay even mentions that some of his media colleagues had had enough and were even thinking of doing something else with their lives.
Tremblay even reported a rumor that Marc Bergevin wanted to ban journalists from the locker room and that he even intended to talk to other NHL general managers.
In addition, the veteran journalist claims that the former Habs GM had become a completely paranoid sociopath and that it is quite incredible to see how Bergevin went from a warm, funny, joking and open man to a completely isolated person.
Heavy accusations.
But since the new management is in place, the climate is much more pleasant, as mentioned by a fellow journalist in Tremblay on condition of anonymity.
It remains to hope now that this relaxed and pleasant atmosphere can remain for a long time around the Canadiens.
