The Montreal Canadiens are in Raleigh to play the Hurricanes tonight.
Dom Ducharme's men had an optional practice this afternoon just a few hours before their duel. Very few veterans decided to show up on the ice.
Instead, it was the individuals who had something to prove who decided to put in the workout.
Among the group are the young Caufield, Poehling, Harvey-Pinard, Clague and Romanov, just to name a few.
They will all have something to prove soon, if they want to stay with the big club when all the veterans are back from injury or from the COVID-19 protocol.
See the list of players in attendance:
81 - Brandon Baddock
43 - Kale Clague
35 - Sam Montembeault
22 - Cole Caufield
77 - Brett Kulak
70 - Michael McNiven
71 - Jake Evans
27 - Alexander Romanov
49 - Rafael Harvey-Pinard
64 - Corey Schueneman
88 - Cameron Hillis
55 - Michael Pezzetta
25 - Ryan Poehling
42 - Lukas Vejdemo
56 - Jesse Ylonen
These guys are obviously trying to get the attention of the head coach and they are doing it the right way. From what we can tell, Ducharme likes his soldiers to work their butts off. That's how they win points. Just take Alexander Romanov as an example. A real training beast!
