Last Friday night, Trevor Timmins, Marc Bergevin and the Montreal Canadiens turned to Logan Mailloux as their first round pick, 31st in this 2021 auction. We won't go over Mailloux's antics again, but let's just say that the cloud over the Bell Centre is getting greyer.

The Habs are getting roasted everywhere. On traditional websites, blogs, TV, social media, at the grocery store, even at the barber shop! In short, everyone is talking about it and a majority of the population is outraged. We don't understand how an organization like the Canadiens could fail so abruptly.

All this chatting to indicate that the restaurant chain St-Hubert was surprised by the decision of the Montreal Canadiens. They do not endorse the young man's gesture, just as they do not support the Habs regarding this more than audacious decision. We are talking about one of the most popular and well-known company in Quebec, which is no small thing! We are also talking about one of the Canadiens' major sponsors.

"This choice surprised us and we are evaluating if we will continue our partnership with them. In 2021, with everything we've seen, with all the moves, we were really surprised. Are they going to back down or are they going to move forward and go with the young man?" said Josée Vaillancourt, the company's director of public relations.

At the time of writing this post, the company has not spoken with Geoff Molson, but I imagine that will happen in the next few days, if not hours. St-Hubert, which has a presence at the Bell Centre and Place Bell, among others, will take a few days to think things over and make the best decision possible.

It's amazing how quickly the Habs have lost their status of 2021 playoff heroes. It's no longer the talk of the town, now all the attention is on their controversial pick.
