The St. Louis Blues have signed Robert Thomas to a two-year, $2.8 million deal. This is a bridge contract as Thomas has yet to break out of his shell and is full of promise.
Just 22 years old, this 20th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft just ran out of his three-year entry-level contract, as he has shown some nice skills. In the 2019-20 season, he stepped-up with a 42-point performance in 66 games. It was a little more difficult last year, but the young man had to deal with a broken thumb.
Thomas remains a prospect that the St. Louis Blues believe in immensely, and this mutual agreement is proof of that: they want to give him every chance to win.
That said, with the signings of Kirill Kaprizov and Thomas, that still leaves Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Rasmus Dahlin and Brady Tkachuk as RFA's of importance without a contract...
