The Montreal Canadiens announced that they have demoted Swedish defenseman Mattias Norlinder to the Laval Rocket, due to physical conditioning purposes.
The 21-year-old Swede returned to practice recently after suffering a mysterious injury during the Hab's training camp. In Norlinder's contract, it was specified that he could not play in the AHL.
However, since it is for conditioning purposes, there may be an exception.
The Habs have two options! A refit in order to make him play in the NHL eventually or a return to Sweden as soon as possible. It will be interesting to see which way the organization will go.
