The Anticipated Return of Arber Xhekaj to the Canadiens: we have a clue and excellent news for the fans
Here's an encouraging article for those eager to see Arber Xhekaj back with the Montreal Canadiens.
Firstly, see what the renowned Eric Engels (Sportsnet) stated earlier today.
«The Canadiens have not set a limit on the number of games Xhekaj will play with the Laval Rocket, but that doesn't mean his time in the AHL is unlimited. He needs to continue working and progressing, and as long as he does, I expect him to be back in Montreal well before the end of the season.»
Well before the end of the season, Wow!
That's great news. Engels also adds that, even though young defensemen will inevitably be traded by the Habs (due to a large surplus), he strongly believes that Xhekaj will remain with the Canadiens once everything is said and done.
So, Engels doesn't expect Xhekaj to be traded, after all.
We just need to be patient in this matter.
Xhekaj, 22 years old, 6 feet 4 inches tall and 240 pounds, has accumulated this season: 4 points in 7 AHL games and 3 points in 17 NHL games.
A clue?
There's also the post from a fan who encountered Xhekaj today (at the airport) on his way to Montreal, which is currently making the rounds on the web, but it should be taken with a grain of salt.
In any case, we may see the Sheriff back with the Canadiens quite soon.
