According to Aaron Portzline, a journalist assigned to cover the Blue Jackets, the Montreal Canadiens are in contact with Columbus in order to acquire goalie Joonas Korpisalo. The Arizona Coyotes and the Buffalo Sabres have also shown interest.

With the injury to Carey Price, Jake Allen is currently performing at a high level. He's delivering the goods, but when he's off, Samuel Montembeault doesn't seem to be providing adequately.

Korpisalo, 27, was a third-round pick of the Blue Jackets in the 2012 draft. He has won 70 of his 163 games so far in the NHL, while maintaining a .905 save percentage and has a 2.91 goals-against average. He has three shutouts as well.

He would be a good fit, considering how little he would cost. He is in the last year of his contract, so the Jackets can't ask for the moon in return. Currently, Korpisalo's value would be between a fourth and seventh round pick.

However, the Jackets would apparently like to wait a bit for the market to be more substantial.

If you're Marc Bergevin, would you try to acquire Korpisalo's services? Honestly, he could be very useful to the Habs until Carey Price returns.
