The New York Rangers have announced that they will retire Henrik Lundqvist's number 30 on January 28, 2022 at Madison Square Garden against the Minnesota Wild.
Lundqvist will have played in 887 games in the NHL, all of them with the Blue Shirts, with whom he amassed a total of 459 wins. In addition, he maintained a 2.43 goals-against-average, recorded 64 shutouts, and accumulated a save percentage of 0.918%. He won the Vézina Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best goaltender, in 2011-2012.
Lundqvist never won the Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers, but he brought them to the Stanley Cup Final in 2014.
An incredible career, for a fantastic man.
