Bettman's new team continues to impress, despite an expansion draft that many experts covering NHL activities said it was disappointing. General manager Ron Francis decided to go with a different strategy by avoiding big contracts in order to have more room under the salary cap for the coming years.
However, despite this strategy, the Seattle Kraken has already managed to surpass the New York Islanders, a team that has reached the Final Four in the last two seasons. The new expansion team already has more fans following them on social media than the New York team.
That's pretty surprising knowing that the New York Islanders have been around for several years. The real question is whether they will be able to surpass them on the ice this year. It would be a huge surprise if the Kraken managed to finish ahead of the Islanders next season!
