The Tkachuks are making a bad name for themselves
The three Tkachuk's, Keith, Matthew and Brady, have one thing in common, they are slow to sign a contract. When Matthew signed his current three-year, $7 million a year deal, he did so on September 25. Keith also signed late beforehand.
That said, Brady, the youngest of the three, is still without a contract at the time of this writing and that issue is now dragging on. Some fans are now thinking that signing Tkachuk for more than $6.5 million would be a foolish move.
His brother Matthew actually indicated that he was probably making a Tkachuk of himself, hahaha!
"He may be currently making a Tkachuk. Our dad waited, I waited, and Brady seems to be on that path too. Hopefully he'll find his deal, but there are a lot of false rumors out there. They're not that close, but who knows? Maybe they'll find some common ground."
The Tkachuk brothers are tough to deal with, the father was very tough too, then now he's kind of a company, so the two older ones are making sure Brady becomes a real Tkachuk. Which he is not yet on the financial side.
"I'm in the 'mix', I still am. It's a family business, nobody wants to have anything to do with the Tkachuk's in there, but we do it by committee. My dad and I are definitely involved. Brady needs help with these things. He's not as cutthroat as we were in our situation, but he's becoming more and more of a Tkachuk as this thing continues."
So, if I understand correctly, Brady Tkachuk and the Senators are not that close to a deal? Will he be at training camp? It's getting more and more unlikely...
