While the contractual situation of young Cole Caufield is still the main topic of the moment for the Montreal Canadiens, there is some new development.
Captain Nick Suzuki has just broken his silence on the subject, and he was very reassuring.
In an interview on TSN690 this morning, Suzuki had this to say to the fans:
"I'm not worried about all of this and I don't think people should be worried. It's part of the business and we still have plenty of time (for an agreement to be signed) before the start of the season."
This is not a surprise because we know they are very good friends, but Suzuki confessed that he talks to Cole every day, and insists that there is no cause for concern.
In your opinion, how much will Caufield sign for? Are you afraid of an offer sheet?
Caufield, 22, has amassed a very solid 84 points in 123 games with the Montreal Canadiens, including 53 goals. (In addition to 12 points in 20 playoff games)
