As just reported by David Alter of The Leafs Nation, the Toronto Maple Leafs have just announced two departures.
The Leafs have effectively fired their director of player evaluation, Jim Paliafito.
Also, Chief Analyst (Research and Development) Cam Charron is out as well. Charron was also fired and is no longer with the Toronto organization.
Let's remember that, during the team's end-of-season review, after ANOTHER first-round elimination from the NHL playoffs, Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan mentioned that he does not intend to make an immediate change in GM or head coach. So others had to take the fall.
The beginning of a cleanup? To be continued, but all indications are that the key players are "out of the woods" for now.
More details will follow!
