Just a few days after publicly announcing to their goaltenders Logan Thompson and Laurent Brossoit that they were officially the two trusted goaltenders of the Vegas Golden Knights, and a few days after announcing that the organization was not going to look for another goaltender (following the major injury suffered by Robin Lehner), well here they are already going back on their word.

The Vegas Golden Knights have just concluded a trade with the San Jose Sharks, to get a goalie:

TRADE

Vegas:
- Adin Hill (G)

To San Jose:
Fourth round pick in 2024

Hill, 26, is 6-foot-6 (214 pounds) and has a career .908 SV% in 74 games with the Sharks and Arizona Coyotes. His goals-against average is 2.74.

As a reminder:

We actually told you about it earlier this month, the Vegas Golden Knights got some major bad news this summer.

Their number one goalie, Robin Lehner, will need surgery on both hips and his 2022-2023 season is already over (before it can even begin).

It's such a major operation that some experts are even questioning his long-term future in the NHL.

In short, while the entire hockey world was expecting an acquisition to fill this loss (like the one of Jake Allen), general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced publicly last week that his team had finally decided to trust Logan Thompson and Laurent Brossoit, their two current goalies. (and not to make a trade)

He added that they would officially be the team's two goalies, to start the 2022-23 season.

Finally, today, he has already gone to get a new one (goalie)

It's part of the business and it's not the end of the world, but in the case of Vegas, it's starting to happen a lot, this kind of situation where they seem to neglect their players.

That might explain this:
