As is often the case in November of each season, the various teams in the National Hockey League re-evaluate their needs and objectives, and this has the effect of reactivating the trade market.

There is often a surge of trade announcements in November and December.

Organizations have a much better overall picture of their club, a better assessment of players, and they can more easily dictate the plan (including whether the organization is in the "buy" or "sell" category).

Pierre Dorion confirmed it this week: there is a lot of talk in the trade market right now.

As far as we're concerned, there have been several rumours that Kent Hughes is very active on the market right now, especially in trying to trade a forward. The Montreal Canadiens would be among the favorites to conclude an imminent transaction.

In the last few hours, the excellent informant David Pagnotta has confirmed these rumours:

"The Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks are very active on the phone and are listening to offers for certain players." - David Pagnotta

The usual candidates are mentioned, including Evgenii Dadonov, Mike Hoffman, Christian Dvorak, and possibly Josh Anderson.

So, know that Kent Hughes is indeed currently active on the phone, and a deal could absolutely be announced soon.

At least, if we believe what Seravalli said. Stay tuned!
