Last year, the Habs general manager didn't wait too long to complete his first trade, but the story is quite different this season, as it's dead calm for now.
There are of course several rumors regarding Josh Anderson, Joel Edmundson and Sean Monahan but, as reported by Alexandre Desrosiers of Rumeursdetransaction.com, it could very well be that two young players will land in Montreal, by March 3rd.
According to former scout and now BPM Sports columnist David Ettedgui, the chances of Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi and New York Rangers forward Vitali Kravtsov being traded to the Habs are pretty good right now.
This is not the first time that these two players have been linked to the Habs, as Puljujarvi's name has been mentioned in some rumors in the past few weeks, and it is very likely that the Oilers will put him up for a trade very soon, in order to respect the salary cap.
As for Kravtsov, he would have asked the Rangers organization for a trade because he is not satisfied with his usage time, he has only collected six points in 28 games this season.
What's interesting here is that the Russian forward had been a first-round pick of the Rangers, in 2018, ninth overall, and the one who drafted him is none other than a certain Jeff Gorton.
Perhaps the latter could convince Kent Hughes to take a chance on his former first round pick. The Rangers showed their colors with the acquisition of Vladimir Tarasenko...
Could a Sean Monahan or Joel Edmundson interest Chris Drury, the GM of the Blue Shirts, between now and March 3?
That's not to say that Puljujarvi and Kravstov will automatically show up with the Habs at the same time, but if you had your choice, which one would be a good acquisition?
