As we reported yesterday, the New York Rangers have made a major decision by placing their first overall pick in 2020, Alexis Lafreniere, on the fourth line.
There's news, and it's worse than we thought.
Lafreniere won't even be on his team's fourth line tonight, he'll be in the stands and he'll just be dropped from the lineup. Wow...
The Quebecer is officially healthy scratch by his coach Gerard Gallant.
You can guess that this is a decision that is causing a huge reaction, so much so that many pundits are outright wondering if Lafreniere will eventually be traded by the Rangers, no less.
Lafreniere has just five goals and 17 points in 36 games this season.
It will be a file to watch in the coming weeks, but know that Alexis Lafreniere is now the 13th forward of the New York Rangers and he just lost his place in their lineup.
More details will follow.
