In a press conference after yesterday's loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki was not in a good mood.

He sent a clear motivational message to his troops, and as many fans noted, he also seemed to send a clear message to one coach in particular:

"We're not playing well enough, our power play is downright embarrassing right now.

We're not producing scoring chances and it's completely killing our momentum. We need to be better, our scoring percentage is embarrassing." - Nick Suzuki

He seems to be fed up with the power play's lack of success, and he wants that to change. In any case, it was nice to see him vent a bit.

As our colleagues at Marker report, without saying so directly, by specifically talking about an aspect like the power play (as being the big source of problems right now with the Habs), Suzuki is obviously putting coach Alex Burrows on the spotlight. After all, he's the one responsible for the power play.

Martin St-Louis even added a layer of it during his press briefing:

"It affects our key players a lot because a power play that works, it gives you confidence that you can carry five-on-five.

So our key players' performance is greatly affected by the performance of the power play right now. We're going to keep working to go out and get some answers." - Martin St. Louis

You have to admit that it's really an issue right now with the Tricolore, and the head instructor doesn't hide it: the power play is costing the Habs games right now.
