Unfinished business, once again, for Ryan Poehling!

Ryan Poehling has been, without any surprise, demoted to the Laval Rocket. Apart from a few nice flashes here and there during the preparation games, Poehling didn't impress anyone during this trip. He rather disappointed, playing a very uninspired game and without any sense of urgency. Still!

Dominique Ducharme is a bit guilty, in my eyes, in this matter. Before camp even started, Ducharme named Poehling to his center line that would (most likely) start the season with the Montreal Canadiens. His status was set in stone... when it shouldn't have been.

The 22-year-old center, who I remind you was selected 25th overall by the Habs in 2017, is still unable to make it in the big League. On the other hand, he is still young and with the AHL team, he will go and accumulate points, which will further inflate his confidence level.

Last year, he progressed offensively with 25 points in 28 games and seemed to have found his identity as a professional hockey player. In the minors, it's one thing, but in the NHL, it's another! He lost a position he had to earn!
