Interest in the veteran defender Jeff Petry seems to be there. As Marco D'Amico mentions, the two teams most implicated in the rumors concerning the number 26, the Dallas Stars and the Detroit Red Wings, sent scouts to the Bell Centre on Monday evening. Well well.
Perhaps the resurrection of Petry since the arrival of Martin St-Louis at the helm of the Habs has refreshed the interest of the teams for the defenseman? The veteran is no longer the same since the departure of Dominique Ducharme, we have almost found the former Jeff " Norris " Petry.
The presence of these scouts, however, does not mean that a trade is confirmed involving Petry. There is however no smoke without fire as D'Amico says. It remains to be seen if this smoke will die down before the trade deadline or if it will stretch into the summer
