We now know why Price is addressing the media today.
According to information from RDS reporter Luc Gélinas, here's the real reason Carey is at a media availability today:
"We shouldn't expect Price to make an announcement this noon...unless there is a big surprise.

It really comes from a request from the media. It's a noon appointment!
