There is an interesting development on the trade market for d-mens.
The rumor is circulating abundantly today, and more and more insiders seem to confirm it: veteran defenseman Zdeno Chara will be traded at the end of the week.
Chara will tie Chris Chelios' big record tonight for the most games played in the regular season (ever) for a defenseman, with 1,650 games.
Incredible! Thursday, he should beat this mark, against the Los Angeles Kings.
After making history, in an Islanders uniform, according to NYI Hockey Now's Stefen Rosner, Thursday's game would be Chara's last in a New York uniform.
We like the fact that he writes this big page of history, with the team that drafted him, but it's still weird.
According to Rosner, given that they will most likely miss the playoffs, the Islanders will trade the giant defenseman by the end of the week, after breaking the record.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and possibly the Boston Bruins would like to acquire him.
To be continued! Where would you see him end up?
