After a well-deserved Christmas break, there's quite a bit of action to keep an eye on with the Montreal Canadiens today. Of course, it started this morning with Kent Hughes recalling goaltender Jakub Dobes from the Laval Rocket.

But that's not all.

We also got a big update on Patrik Laine. According to Eric Engels from Sportsnet, Laine boarded the plane with his teammates heading to Florida.

In short, we're likely to get more details on these two matters quite soon, as head coach Martin St-Louis will address the media this afternoon.

The Canadiens call a press conference with Martin St-Louis

We'll closely monitor what the head coach has to say about Patrik Laine and Jakub Dobes.

Will Dobes play this weekend? Will it be Saturday or Sunday (against the Panthers or the Lightning)?

And Patrik Laine, will he return to play tomorrow afternoon in Sunrise?

We'll have answers in a few hours during Martin St-Louis' press conference.

«The Canadiens flew to Florida this morning and will practice at 2 p.m. today in Fort Lauderdale in preparation for tomorrow's game against the Panthers (1 p.m., TSN2, RDS).»

Stu Cowan

The press conference is expected to take place around 3:00-3:30 p.m.

Stay tuned, details will follow.
