We have an acquisition to announce for the Montreal Canadiens organization of goaltender Zachary Emond.

A new goaltender has joined the ranks, likely to be the 5th or 6th goalie for the Canadiens, but more importantly, an immediate replacement in case of injury for the Laval Rocket.

Goaltender Zachary Emond joins the Montreal Canadiens organization and signs with the Trois-Rivières Lions

He is a very solid young Quebecois goaltender.

«Zachary Émond will be back for a second season!

The one who accomplished two consecutive shutouts in the regular season last year will make a valuable contribution defending the felines' net!

Welcome back, Zach!»

- Trois-Rivières Lions

Congratulations to Zachary on this contract!

Emond, 24 years old and a native of St-Cyprien, is a 6-foot-3, 176-pound goaltender.

He was a sixth-round pick (176th overall) by the San Jose Sharks in 2018.

In the ECHL, he has maintained save percentages of 0.907 and 0.936 over the past two seasons, which is obviously brilliant.

He also played 12 games in the American Hockey League with the San Jose Sharks' affiliate.

I'm really looking forward to seeing him in action, as he really impressed me in the QMJHL, notably with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (0.932 save percentage in 27 games in 2018-19, which is absolutely incredible).

Details to follow.
