On BPM Sports yesterday morning, journalist Renaud Lavoie mentioned that Blue Jackets players were targeting Patrik Laine's shoulder.

We reported on this yesterday morning:

The TVA Sports insider explained the following:

«They were hitting him in specific areas, and the Blue Jackets players knew exactly what they were doing.. And it worked; he was forced to leave the game. The objective was to take him out of this game.»

These are significant conclusions that have sparked massive reactions on social media in recent hours.

A Video Appears to Fully Support Renaud Lavoie

The HFTV team faced criticism for their post but later shared a video clearly showing that Laine was being targeted in Columbus.

See the footage and explanation:

Here's all of Laine's shifts in about 2 mins of ice time. I counted 7-8/10 hits and cross checks on the left shoulder (the previously injured one), excluding the one where Patty hits Voronkov and falls on his left shoulder.

What do you think?

It's sad to see, but it's so obvious!

As shown in the video above, Laine's shoulder was consistently targeted by Columbus Blue Jackets players.

It's truly unfortunate that it played out this way.. and now we know the result.

The Canadiens made a new announcement regarding Patrik Laine and revealed the length of his absence.

He is officially listed as day to day on the Canadiens website.

Let's hope Laine can return at 100% and move past this regrettable incident. He was having an amazing month since his return to play with 8 goals in 9 games.
