Last-Minute Announcement Involving Jakub Dobes as the Canadiens Make a Change
We have an interesting development live from the Bell Centre this morning for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens.
After a tougher outing against the Detroit Red Wings for Samuel Montembeault on Thursday, the team is now turning to the young Jakub Dobes to get back on the winning track.
It's a very interesting decision.
Jakub Dobes will be in goal tonight against the New Jersey Devils
Here are the official confirmations:
«Jakub Dobes will be the starting goalie for the Canadiens this morning. It looks like he'll be facing Jake Allen tonight in Montreal against the Devils.»
- John Bartlett, Sportsnet And the announcement from Renaud Lavoie.
So, Dobes will be in goal for his team tonight at the Bell Centre, and he'll face a tough challenge against Jack Hughes and the Devils.
He'll be up against former Montreal Canadiens goalie, Jake Allen.
This isn't necessarily a major knock against Montembeault, but let's just say that Dobes could make this internal competition very interesting with another win tonight.
At 23 years old, 6 feet 4 inches, and 215 pounds, Dobes has a record of 5-0-0 this season, with a goals-against average of 1.55 and a save percentage of 0.941.
At 34 years old, 6 feet 2 inches, and 197 pounds, Allen has a record of 6-8-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of 0.904.
