Official last-minute statement from the Canadiens involving Logan Mailloux and it's extremely promising for what's to come
It's always interesting to learn a bit more about the future players of the Montreal Canadiens, and for the first time in a while, the organization has just released an official statement to talk about a young player.
It really allows us to get to know him better.
And the star of this article is none other than Logan Mailloux.
Logan Mailloux, an extraordinary rookie season!
It really seems to be just a matter of time before Mailloux becomes a regular defensemen for the Habs.
Clearly, they hold him (rightly so) in very high esteem.
"Logan Mailloux: star player in his first year in the pros
MONTREAL Adapting to professional hockey can be difficult for most players making the jump from the junior level.
In the case of Logan Mailloux, his first year in the professional ranks and with the Laval Rocket started off timidly. But, since December, the team has been on a roll, and so has Mailloux. The 20-year-old defender has become a force on the blue line, in addition to being selected to participate in the AHL All-Star Classic in San Jose in February." - Montreal Canadiens
The complete interview can be found at the bottom of the article, with all of Logan's questions and answers, but here is a short excerpt.
"Lately, you've formed a defensive pair with Arber Xhekaj [before his call-up by the Canadiens]. How has the experience been and how much has he helped you?
He's such a good player. I think we clicked well and that our games [were] complementary on the ice, and we [read] each other's play well. I believe I'm playing my best hockey since he joined us.
How did you feel about the ovation from the crowd on January 12 at Place Bell?
We have the best fans in the league, without a doubt. Our arena is nearly full for most games, so it's great. They're always there to support us. It was definitely a special moment, being on the ice and hearing that. It means a lot to me.
[...] You addressed the crowd in French, which is greatly appreciated by the fans here. How important is it for you to speak the language?
It's part of the things I experience here on a daily basis. I live in Quebec; everything is in French here, the people are Francophone, and I want to appreciate their ways and their language. And it would be great to be able to continue learning and making progress." - Via an article from the Canadiens Complete interview, right here:
