This will cause him to miss at least the first few months of the 2024-2025 season.
This is quite unfortunate, as number 49 was featured in many lineup projections for the upcoming season, but it's very possible that another Quebecois forward will take Harvey-Pinard's place in the lineup to start the season.
As reported by the RDT site, Philippe Boucher was a guest on Tony Marinaro's recent episode of the podcast The Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro, where he identified the player who could take Harvey-Pinard's place: the new acquisition by Kent Hughes over the summer, Alex Barré-Boulet.
Signed as a free agent on July 1st, the forward from Montmagny could very well replace Harvey-Pinard, according to Boucher, who had seen him play in the QMJHL when he was the head coach of the Quebec Remparts.
Furthermore, Boucher even mentioned that Barré-Boulet has the necessary talent to potentially play in the Canadiens' top 6, although that seems less likely.
Nevertheless, the Canadiens' new acquisition possesses strong offensive skills, having scored 302 points in 294 games in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch, the Tampa Bay Lightning's affiliate team.
However, he has struggled to establish himself in the NHL in recent years, having only recorded 18 points in 62 games, but everyone is hopeful that Alex Barré-Boulet's career in the best league in the world will finally take off in the Canadiens uniform.
