Let's recall that in a piece by journalist Arpon Basu, an excellent article, Slafkovsky did not hesitate to criticize the Slovak Hockey Federation.
Slafkovsky notably mentioned that the media coverage in Slovakia is toxic compared to Montreal, and added that they practically have a losing mentality.
Slafkovsky stated that they are always satisfied with little, like bronze medals, when they should be aiming higher.
And they didn't hold back.
They specifically said that these were very thoughtless statements from the young Montreal Canadiens forward.
Let's just say, unsurprisingly, his comments didn't go over well there.
All the details of their strong response can be found here:
As Mathis Therrien from DansLesCoulisses mentions, it will be very interesting to follow this case.
Will this situation shake Slafkovsky? Will a journalist dare to ask him the question? Hopefully not, but it's truly an unfortunate situation.
We really hope this won't affect the young Juraj Slafkovsky too much, because that's a heavy response, and I'm convinced the young Canadiens forward didn't mean any harm.
He just wanted to show that he cares and wants to move things in the right direction for his home country.
