Major statement from Auston Matthews on his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Unlike some of his teammates, and following the numerous rumors that have circulated in the last few hours, star player Auston Matthews has just made a clear and major statement regarding his future in Toronto.
This won't please Gary Bettman and the fans of the Arizona Coyotes (joke):
"My intention is absolutely to stay here, in Toronto, and I want to sign a contract extension before the start of next season." - Auston Matthews
Wow, this would put an end to all the speculations about his possible move to Arizona.
It's in the context of his team's end-of-season review day, which is being held today, that Matthews made this big "statement".
Matthews could sign the biggest contract in the history of the National Hockey League as early as this summer, then.
When we talk about his teammates who have been less clear, we particularly think of Ryan O'Reilly, who spoke as a player who will not be back with the Maple Leafs next season.
Matthews, 25, has amassed 85 points (40 goals) in 74 games this season, and 106 points (60 goals) in 73 games last season.
He is signed until 2024, at $11.64 million per year.
