As many wonder who will be the Canadiens' number one goalie in 4-5 years, we might finally have the answer.
According to the most recent ranking published by former CH employee and journalist Marc Dumont, goalie Jacob Fowler has dethroned elite talent Lane Hutson.
This is big.
See the complete ranking here:
Dumont thus explains that Fowler, the 69th overall pick in 2023, is now the Tricolore's #1 prospect.
And he's a goalie!
What a steal by Kent Hughes in the draft, if this holds true!
Look at his numbers this season in the NCAA: 17 games, a record of 13-3-1, with a 2.16 GAA and .925 SV%.
This compares favorably to another Boston College former player, Thatcher Demko.
Remember that Lane Hutson, now ranked 2nd among CH prospects, is considered by many to be the next Adam Fox, which is saying a lot.
He also has 20 points in 15 games this season, numbers superior to Fox at the same age. He is too strong for the NCAA.
Seeing Fowler now ranked ahead of him speaks volumes.
We are eager to see what the future holds for these two youngsters.
