In a media scrum in the final seconds, Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar made an announcement regarding Artturi Lehkonen.
The verdict is in and it's terrible news.
"Bednar on Lehkonen:
"It will be four to six weeks. Maybe more. It's a huge loss."
So Lehkonen's season is obviously over (the Avalanche play their final game of the season in just over three weeks), but he could return for the playoffs, if Colorado makes a run.
Recall that Lehkonen left last night's game against the Montreal Canadiens with a finger injury and never returned afterwards.
We then learned that his finger is fractured.
More details will follow.
