As the NHL regular season draws to a close, teams are shifting their focus to the playoffs. However, the Tampa Bay Lightning are facing a major setback, as they will be without their trade deadline acquisition, Tanner Jeannot.

On Monday morning, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper spoke with the media, providing an update on his team's lineup. The news weren't so good.

Tanner Jeannot, a key addition to the Lightning roster, is injured. This is bad news for the Bolts, who invested a lot the gritty forward.

Jeannot Sidelined for the Playoffs?

#Bolts head coach Jon Cooper says Tanner Jeannot is «more than day-to-day. Hopefully he'll be back here at some point in the playoffs.»

When asked if he expects Jeannot to miss all of Round One, Cooper said, «I don't want to say that, but I don't expect him to play Game One.»

To secure Jeannot, Lightning general manager Julien Brisebois traded promising defensive prospect Cal Foote and a package of draft picks, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round selections. This turn of events is far from what Brisebois envisioned when making the deal, and now the Lightning will have to adjust without Jeannot's contributions on the ice.
