A few hours before the highly anticipated match between Canada and the United States, we have a development that is far from ideal. According to insider David Pagnotta, more players have been hit by illness at the 4 Nations Faceoff, and all indications suggest they are Canadian players.

So far, we know that Travis Konecny (Canada) and Cale Makar (Canada) had to miss practice because they were too sick, making it clear that the virus seems to be hitting Canada's locker room the hardest.

Let's sincerely hope this doesn't derail Team Canada's tournament too much.

More Players Are Sick at the 4 Nations Faceoff

See Pagnotta's statement:

"Seems like Cale Makar isn't the only player at 4 Nations dealing with an illness.

Sounds like something may be going around and some players on all countries are taking precautions - they don't want to risk missing any action."

This is a situation to keep an eye on.

Note that we have plenty of action today, live from the Bell Centre for hockey fans. Finland and Sweden faced off at 1:00 PM, while Canada and the United States will go head-to-head at 8:00 PM.

We are truly spoiled this Saturday.

Kevin Lankinen will face Filip Gustavsson in net, while Connor Hellebuyck is expected to be in goal for the United States and face Jordan Binnington for team Canada.
