A new player has just been targeted as a replacement for Sean Monahan for the power play and it's Josh Anderson
Since the trade announced and concluded yesterday between the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets, many of us are wondering who will replace Sean Monahan.
In a press conference, Kent Hughes answered the question regarding the regular lines:
However, what about the power play?
Many believe that Josh Anderson will reclaim his spot on the power play (on the first unit) and will take the place left vacant by Monahan's departure via trade.
It's worth remembering that it was him who was on Martin St-Louis's first power play unit before Juraj Slafkovsky (and not Alex Newhook).
So, it will be something to watch, but don't be surprised if Anderson replaces Monahan on the PP.
Anderson, 29, has accumulated 7 goals and 6 assists, for a total of 13 points in 45 games this season.
"I just realized that with Monahan's departure, we will very likely see Anderson on the 1st PP.
Sorry. Have a good day everyone." - Alex Jodouin
It's only an opinion, but it's really likely to be the case.
To be continued!
