BREAKING: Major trade alert in the NHL
Just a few days after acquiring Ivan Provorov, Jarmo Kekäläinen does it again. The general manager of the Blue Jackets has just concluded a trade with the New Jersey Devils to acquire right-handed defenseman Damon Severson.
The defenseman, who reportedly attracted the attention of several teams in the free agent market this summer, is transferred in a sign and trade that will allow him to pocket a salary of $6.25 million annually for the next eight seasons.
