In the latest written edition of his blog, renowned Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friedman mentioned something major regarding forward Corey Perry.
"Corey Perry is apparently going to hit the market (and leave the Lightning). After all these years, will the Maple Leafs finally succeed? Imagine the content." - Elliotte Friedman
Friedman is talking about Toronto, but considering how much Perry loves Montreal and the fans of the Habs, it seems absolutely logical for it to be the most likely destination. We love it.
It is worth noting that according to experts, Corey Perry will sign a one-year contract worth a total of $850,000.
At that price, would you like Kent Hughes to sign him?
In any case, the biggest obstacle seems to have been cleared. Everything indicates that he will leave the Lightning, and the Montreal Canadiens officially appear to be the most logical destination to welcome him this summer.
"After two years, everything indicates that Corey Perry and the Lightning are heading for a divorce."
Perry, 38 years old, amassed 5 points in 6 games during the recent NHL playoffs with the Tampa Bay Lightning (and 25 points in the regular season).
During his stint with the Montreal Canadiens in the 2020-21 season, he collected 21 points in 49 regular-season games, as well as 10 points in 22 playoff games.
