According to information from Jimmy Murphy, of Boston Hockey Now, multiple sources have told him that the Boston Bruins would be linked to the Edmonton Oilers for a major trade this summer.
Murphy specifically highlights that the Bruins might be looking for center players, to potentially replace Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.
According to his sources, the Bruins have already identified two particular players, both from the Oilers.
They are particularly interested in Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan McLeod.
In the case of Nugent-Hopkins, this would be the Bruins' big summer move, and as for McLeod, this would be plan B.
In return, Boston would be ready to trade notably defenseman Matt Grzelcyk, and they would obviously add more.
Nugent-Hopkins, 30, is a 1st overall pick in 2011. He scored 104 points (37 goals) in 82 games this season, in addition to adding 11 points in 12 playoff games.
Do you think the Oilers should trade Nugent-Hopkins? He is signed at $5.125 million per season until 2029. Otherwise, the Bruins might fall back on McLeod.
