Another quite interesting, surprising, and disappointing element is noticeable here.
Is Nick Suzuki one of the most severely underrated players in the NHL? It seems very likely.
Not only is he far down in this ranking, at the 78th position, but he is also 11 spots behind Bo Horvat.
Why mention Bo Horvat? Why him specifically?
Because he is one of the few players on this list who has recently been traded. Therefore, there is a tangible and concrete value associated with his name.
Bo Horvat was traded from the Canucks to the Islanders in exchange for Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty, and a protected first-round pick in 2023.
Beauvillier was then re-traded for a fifth-round pick.
So, following their logic, Nick Suzuki would be worth less than a protected first-round pick, a second-round draft prospect, and a fifth-round pick.
We absolutely do not agree with this, but it shows how much Suzuki remains underestimated in the league.
In your opinion, is Suzuki worth, roughly, more than first, second, and fifth-round picks?
