Kent Hughes has indeed just concluded a transaction with the Los Angeles Kings, just hours before the 2024 draft, as he moves up in the first round.

The Canadiens announce that their pick is made for tonight: Names are revealed

Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Friday that the team has acquired pick no. 21 in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the Club's first round (26th), second round (57th), and seventh round (198th) picks in this year's draft.

In total, the Canadiens have 10 picks at the 2024 NHL Draft.

The first round begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET

It's happening! Kent Hughes moves up a few spots with his second first-round pick, thanks to the Kings.

Does this trade hint at another one coming? As was the case with the 13th overall pick acquired just before the Kirby Dach trade?

Does Kent Hughes want to move up this 21st overall pick again, to have two picks in the top 15?
